Member of the Cherokee Nation and new hire at Cal Poly Humboldt in the Environmental Science and Management department. I have worked in higher education for over 25 years in the area of inclusion of Indigenous Knowledge systems as scientific worldviews in STEM higher education. I have developed and taught several Indigenous Knowledge based courses and programs. I currently teach course within the NAS and ESM programs at Cal Poly Humboldt that incorporate Indigenous knowledge and western science perspectives. My research is in environmental land restoration efforts that incorporate TEK and the work involved around indigenizing science.
