Alexis is the Executive Director of Mountain Area Preservation (MAP), an environmental advocacy non-profit organization based in the Truckee-Tahoe region. Alexis manages MAP’s priority land use advocacy and open space campaigns, fundraising and organizational governance.

My experience at Cal Poly Humboldt gave me a worldly perspective of how to be effective and creative in crafting solutions for issues impacting natural resources and diverse communities. The work I do within the environmental advocacy sector is multi-faceted. I believe the master’s program aided me in understanding how to advance conservation through collaboration, using science and the community to further positive outcomes for the environment.
